BLOOD ORANGE SORBET

2 C SUGAR
2 C WATER
1 ¼ C BLOOD ORANGE JUICE (4-7 blood oranges)
¼ C VODKA
¼ C LIME JUICE
¼ C CRANBERRY JUICE
BLOOD ORANGE SLICES, garnish

Combine sugar and water in medium saucepan and set over high heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a simmer and all the sugar has been dissolved. Remove from heat and pour into large bowl and chill in refrigerator until cold. Add orange juice, vodka, lime juice and cranberry juice to sugar and water mixture and pour into an ice cream/sorbet maker. Process according to the manufacturer’s suggestions. Transfer mixture to a storage container and freeze. Serve in chilled martini glasses with a slice of blood orange as garnish. (Can be made two days in advance.)
